First Choice Services in Dagsboro Donates to the Town’s Special Events Fund
On August 2, 2017, First Choice Services held a Meet and Greet and invited the Town Council. During this event, they held door prizes and raffles. This included a 50/50 raffle, in which they donated half of the proceeds to our town Special Events Fund! We welcome First Choice Services to town – be sure to check them out. Hydrant Flushing On Monday, August 7, 2017 Near the Water Tower
On Monday, August, 7, 2017, the Town of Dagsboro will be flushing the fire hydrant by the water tower (near the old fire department building). Those in the immediate area may notice discolored water, especially in their washing machines. If you observe discolored water, let your faucet run for a few minutes to see if it clears up. If it doesn’t, contact the water department at 732-3777. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
Trooper First Class Garcia Recognized by the Dagsboro Police Department
On Friday, July 14, 2017, Chief Toomey presented Trooper First Class Christopher Garcia with a certificate of appreciation for his assistance with the Dagsboro Police Department.
The certificate reads, “For your efforts in support of the Dagsboro Police Department onMarch 17th 2017. During an unpredictable and perilous encounter with a frantic individual whose flight from justice and on-going felonious conduct had exceeded two years, you took the initiative to respond with Delaware Probation Agents and Dagsboro Police Officers in order to seek out and seize this known Criminal. Your actions resulted in the apprehension and successful warrant execution of a Public Threat. For your actions, courage and professionalism you are hereby awarded this Certificate of Appreciation. Your deeds are in keeping with the finest of Law Enforcement traditions and reflect honorably upon yourself and the Delaware State Police.”
Dagsboro Police Department Awards Certificates of Appreciation to Probation and Parole Officers
On 6/27/2017, officers from the Sussex County Office of Probation and Parole were awarded certificates of appreciation for their efforts in assisting the Dagsboro Police Department and Delaware State Police in a joint arrest operation. Pictured above are: Chief Toomey, Keith Clausen, David Pusey, Eric Eldridge, Adam Hibbitt, Shane McCarty and Hans Mulford.
The certificates presented read, as follows, “For your efforts in support of the Dagsboro Police Department on March 17th 2017. During an unpredictable and perilous encounter with a frantic individual whose flight from justice and on-going felonious conduct had exceeded two years, you took the initiative to respond with Delaware State Troopers and Dagsboro Police Officers in order to seek out and seize this known Criminal. UPDATED TRAFFIC ALERT – Ward Lane is Now Re-opened
UPDATE 6/26/2017 – The tree has been trimmed and deemed safe again, therefore, Ward Lane is open again. Thank you for your patience!
TRAFFIC ALERT – 5/18/2017 – Ward Lane continues to be CLOSED for the immediate future because of a cracked tree limb that covers much of the roadway. In the interest of public safety, we have closed the roadway and are working quickly to resolve the issue.
Dagsboro Police Department recognizes Trooper Talley for his assistance
Trooper Corliss Talley DSP Troop #4 receives the Dagsboro Police Department Certificate of Appreciation for his actions while assisting the Dagsboro Officers on July 06, 2016 during the flight and apprehension of a violent felony suspect. Resulting in the subjects arrest for possession of 213 bags of heroin, 2.1 grams of crack cocaine, 6.6 grams of marijuana and numerous traffic violations.
